Easy Home-Made Hair Mask : )

One of the things I want to do this year is to start making DIY beauty products. Not only can this save you money in the long run, but you will also know each ingredient that is being used by doing this. I will be trying and testing out all different hair masks this year and will post the ones I like the best for all of you to try! Since all this can basically be found in your kitchen already and you eat most of this, I doubt it will harm your hair in any way. What do you really have to lose by trying? Not much, besides it might not work for your hair type. There are many other options though to try if the first one doesn't work well for you! : )

The past few days, I have been neglecting my poor hair. I've been lazy and have just put it up in a messy bun everyday...and even slept with my hair in the messy bun. Oh-No! That means when I took the bun out each day, my ends were poofy and my hair looked horrible : ( Doing this caused much damage to my long locks!

I have been searching online of different hair mask recipes, and kind of made my own by picking and choosing what I knew I had in my house already. After doing this, I applied no products to my hair, let it air dry, and ran a flatiron though it. My hair feels amazing! It is softer, has shine, and feels nourished! I can't stop running my fingers through it and touching it! I feel that I will be doing this more often, and most likely won't need to buy a mask from the store anymore (unless I hear of one that is totally amazing).  Here's the recipe! : )

  Hair Mask Recipe:
-2 full eggs: Adds Vitamin A and has fatty acids to help any flakes and controls your hairs natural oils. This can also improve hair growth, add shine, condition, strengthen, and thicken hair!
-5 tbsp. Olive Oil: Helps hydrate and moisturize your hair
-1 tbsp. Almond Extract (optional to add a nice scent to the mix)
                                                                     Optional Ingredient:
-1 tbsp. finely ground Oatmeal. You have to get this almost like a powder, so you won't have Oatmeal stuck in your lovely strands. (Colloidal Oatmeal) This will help a dry scalp.

What I did with this mix: Mix everything together! I added a tiny bit of water to the mix just to make sure I'd have enough. I have very long hair down to the lowest part of my back! If you have shorter hair, I bet you could half this recipe and be fine, or just use one egg. It's up to you. After I mixed it all together, I brushed through my hair and rinsed it in very hot water to open my hair follicles. After, squeezing all the excess water out of my hair, and gently towel drying it. I combed through it and sectioned it in half. I put on some gloves and coated my hair with the mixture. Then you want to wrap hair in something like saran wrap. I just used a turbie twist thing. I used my blow dryer after this to add some heat to the towel. Then, I left it in for about 20 minutes. During this time I put a face mask on! Multi- Beauty Tasking!

You then want to rinse this out using lukewarm water! You don't want to cook up those eggs you just put in your hair : ) I shampooed twice to make sure it was all out. My hair at first felt worse and strange when I was doing this, so I used a tiny bit of conditioner on my ends to make my hair feel normal again. By the way I used Suave Shampoo and Conditioner if you were wondering.

While my hair was drying, it was already starting to feel great! I'll admit, at first I was scared to try this. I was afraid of putting eggs in my hair and I thought the olive oil was going to make it greasy. Well, in the end, I was wrong! My hair is great now! I actually feel like I got a fresh cut! I can't promise that this will work for everyone! Everyone's hair is different! Go on and try it! Let me know if you get the same results! : )

L'Oreal Voluminous False Fiber Lashes Review

Okay, so let's talk about the new L'Oreal False Fiber Lashes Mascara.

-The Packaging: A bit bulky. The tube itself is quite big and has a unique shape. It is a very nice gold color with the label printed on it in black.

-The Brush: The brush handle is long. The brush itself is slightly bent ( I like that) and it is narrow. Not like a huge waxy type bristle brush at all. I have't really used brushes like this in a while so I was excited. It has many short and longer bristles on it. Honestly to me it looked like an expired brush would look like. You can also see some of the fibers.

-The Texture and Formula: This is a dry mascara. I honestly thought I got a bad tube, but after doing my research, this was normal. This seems to be a love it or hate it product also. Since the formula is dry and dries quickly also, you have to be fast with applying more coats. Otherwise, it will clump and flake.

-From the L'Oreal Paris website:
~Dual Length Fiber Formula
~Exclusive polymer adheres fiber to lashes
~Botanical waxes prevent hardening or flaking
~Precision brush ensures optimal application
~Safe for sensitive eyes and contact lens wearers

This is how this mascara worked for me. I did find that it was pretty easy to apply. I'm not a fan of the formula being dry and drying quickly, since I like to put on many layers of mascara. I did see some noticeable length and volume. This is hard to describe, but I can tell I have on mascara with this. Some mascaras look great, but you don't really realize your wearing it until you look in a mirror. With this I could tell that something was on my lashes. If applied fast and correctly there isn't really any clumping. If applied slow and it dries out, you will see clumping. I personally think it has a slightly odd smell to it also. This product isn't the worst but it's not great to me either. It's a "so-so meh whatever" product to me.
